Chinese streets with phone booths every corner will convert into something useful – WiFi hotspots according to Chinese government.
One of the public operators said,
“Today seems useless tasteless, tomorrow can be of much help.” One such operator who told reporters. Recently reported that domestic public telephone booth is becoming tasteless, into large losses. But some analysts said the decision is not just the cost of telecommunications competition in the radio sky, more on the ground “land.” Distribution of the phone booth now, or will become the future of Wi-Fi kiosks, 3G competition to become the most powerful “bunker.”
China Telecom deployed tens of thousands Wi-Fi hotspots in Guangdong province. China Mobile has set up “wireless city” slogan in some buildings while China Unicom scaled WiFi equipment purchases. In China, WiFi hotspots will have a relative competition towards 3G.
