Angry Birds, Rovio’s popular game is rolling out a cookbook on the gaming franchise. The company behind the Angry Birds already offers merchandise for Angry Birds, including stuffed toys and t-shirts. The game sold more than 200 million downloads from the day it was out.
During the Open Mobile Summit, Rovio’s Peter Vesterbacka said that “Our first book is coming out–a cookbook”. Now, when you are planning to cook a dinner for your special someone and running out of ideas, you’ll be thinking of Rovio again through the cookbook.
Moreover, Rovio wants to invade the TV, in which they just recently acquired a Finland based animation studio Kombo and plans to launch an animated movie in the next three years.
“We’re getting serious about animation. Already produced a series of animated shorts. We’re going to make more of those. We’re going to make longer animations. And who knows, one day we’re going to make a movie,” said Vesterbacka, according to CNET report.
After successfully hitting the game, Rovio is now taking a major step to capitalize success of Angry Birds and turn the game studio into a whole entertainment franchise around the game like Disney.
