Google acquires PushLife, a mobile music and entertainment platform
Google has just acquired PushLife, a Toronto-based mobile entertainment startup for nearly $25 million dollars according to Startup North. PushLife is a carrier-grade platform that enables you to port iTunes and Windows Media player libraries to non-Apple phones like BlackBerry and Android.
Founded by former RIM employee and PushLife CEO’s Ray Reddy, the company manages wallpapers, videos, music, ringtones and other media on your handset. PushLife aims to “build immersive mobile experiences for people to play, organize, share and purchase digital content across multiple devices”.
The acquisition interest the report that Google might developed and launched its own music service soon as PushLife assumes to perform a similar function when it gets integrated into the Google’s Canada engineering team.
