Web.com.ph – Hosting Review in the Philippines

If I would set up my own website or my client’s website, of course,  I will google for an affordable hosting in the Philippines. There are many web hosting companies competing in terms of web hosting features, diskspace, monthly bandwidth, and price.  There are also sites that compare and review those top international web hosting companies  in terms of bonus features, diskspace, monthly bandwidth and affordability with rankings and rating.  Those are web hosting companies like Dreamhost, Hostmonster, Bluehost, JustHost, Go Daddy and a lot more.  How about a good post about  review and comparison for Philippine based web hosting company.  Our first web hosting company to review is web.com.ph.

I’ve been using web.com.ph for 2 years for my web hosting needs.  I hosted my sites under Personal Hosting Plan which has 1 GB diskspace to host joomla, wordpress, drupal, or  any other open source  cms(content management system)  I want.  1 GB diskspace is more than enough to host those  cms and a Php 900.00 yearly is very affordable,  that’s why I am satisfied and happy to their service. Customer Service is also good when you need support from their technical team.  How I wish  live support would be 24/7 instead of around 7:00 am to 7:00 pm,  Monday to Friday only.  I switched   one of  the projects I had to other hosting because the project uses xslt(EXtensible Stylesheet Language Transformation)  for templating of the site pages, that requires php_xsl.dll ( xsl PHP extension library) which web.com.ph doesn’t support.

If you have any positive or negative comments for web.com.ph, feel free to post it here.

Hi! I have been reading negative comments about this hosting site. Do you know good websites that have reliable reviews–the ones that weren’t written out of bitterness? :)

  • web.com.ph sucks!

It’s horrible no support from Saturday and Sunday and web.com.ph VPS sucks. not advisable for high traffic website eg. 25K visit a day your site will eat up too much resources and they will suspend you. they will un-suspend you only if you reply to their email.

This is great if you’re a beginner, because you can use different tools in Drupal to contain and merge different ideas. When working on a website, most programmers will look for specific modules that cannot be merged to include on the website. When you first use it, Drupal may not seem as flexible as it turns out to be. Once you learn the program, the possibilities are almost limitless. If you’re new at it, Drupal is flexible and user-friendly, yet its power provides the professional programmer with opportunity to expand ideas to new and greater levels.

They do not know advanced coding even .htaccess the do not know it. What kind of web hosting is this? Poor!

We are proficient with PHP and .htaccess configuration. While this is not scope of our web hosting service because it is the responsibility of the web developer or web master, we try to assist in every way.

Our Makati office is open 9am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday while our technical support is online 24 x 7.

Fyi our hosting can accommodate the average-size website. But if you are expecting 25,000 visitors a day or more then I recommend your own dedicated server. This is too much traffic for a “shared” hosting service.
